October 2003
I know, I'll write an editorial, and I'll start by recapping the summer's activities. We made good use of Cornwall's fantastic roads to further test our fleet. I demolished the M3's brakes at Brands Hatch and we've waved goodbye to the E30s (sold, not scrapped!) having proved that they're one of the most entertaining budget cars available today.
We're certainly in autumn now and the evenings are drawing in, which means there's more time for me to write waffle for this site, and the roads are getting more dangerous. This I realised almost too late recently; it's time for me to recalibrate and allow greater stopping (and sliding!) distances.

But it's not all doom and gloom, there's plenty of forthcoming action to look forward to. On a practical note, we're restoring the faithful transit having realised its quite appalling condition. For all you lucky company car owners out there we're marking the 10,000 mile mark of our "new" Vectra SXi by comparing it to its predecessor, the original Vectra. I say company car owners, as I'm not sure anyone has ever privately bought a Vectra new.
My first editorial has contained the word "Vectra" four times now; this isn't a good sign! But I digress. There's a lovely review of our Peak District trip, and we've hired Bruntingthorpe proving ground for our first major feature, where we'll be group testing a hand picked bizarre and almost comical variety of motors, with not a Vectra in sight! .
