Wednesday 7th April
I was in Truro, so popped over to Lands End.
During a conversation with Mr. Luker, we naturally discussed visiting John o'Groats over the long weekend. Quickly deciding that Bank Holiday England traffic would be unbearable, I booked a return ferry journey and we were going to cross the Channel. Out Sunday morning, back Monday night.
Thursday 8th April
Up to this point, it hadn't really been decided what was happening. Perhaps a tour around northern europe, perhaps a fly down to central France or Paris, or one other idea. The Nürburgring.
Saturday 10th April
Some research later on Ben Lovejoy's excellent website, nurburgring.org.uk filled in the info we needed: Rules, costs and useful tips.
Eventually remembered to book a hotel near Koblenz to provide somewhere to kip. The hotel I chose was the "Wilhelmshöhe", a lovely looking place about 15 minutes from the Nordschleife gates. As it's run by English Lady Jacqueline Miller, booking was easy.
Ben came down to Hertfordshire at around 22:00. A couple of rounds of Colin McRae Rally 04 and we were ready. Bedtime, ready for Sunday.
